Why should you watch your projects costs even more?

Here in the ILTECH one of our services most requested, since the third quarter of 2015, are those  that we support ours customers (plus more than 50 in LATAM) to achieve more efficient, economical and secure electrical projects. Since then we had received around 30 optimization request per month, and as I’ll show you, the results for our customers were awesome.

For this service type we put our engineering team in contact with customers engineers team to deeply understand theirs necessities and construct the solution together.

For this article we selected a aleatory option inside of infinity of analyzed projects, and we selected 3 with the following characteristcs:

  1. Diferent customers profiles
  2. Diferent powers
  3. Diferent optimization process

Advancing a little bit about the finish of this article: we analized that for each $1 dolar saved in manufacturing there is $2 dollars added in profit!

Why this happen?

The new methods developed by ILTECH go beyond the standard formulas optimization. The main issue is the intelligence that our solutions try by different ways in the optimization.

Provided by the suitable tools, is easy and secure to electrical projectist to see the points that can be optimized in respect with legal rules.

To clearly more, we will show the results obtained in each 3 analyzed projects, and we will emphasize the changes that provided the new results, to understand that with the correct tools is possible achieve news results even when it seemed impossible.

  • Power: 500 kVA
  • Empty Losses (W): 850
  • Load Losses (W): 3700
  • Impedancy (%): 7
  • Induction (T): 1,6

Conclusion

For this project was raise up the induction and decreased the core dimension, the reflection was raise up load losses a bit, but inside the range of rule and security. The result was a weight coils reduction and economy in project.

  • Customer size: Medium Company
  • Power: 1500 kVA
  • Empty Losses (W): 1700
  • Load Losses (W): 11000
  • Impedancy (%): 6
  • Induction (T): 1,7

Conclusion

For this project was adjusted the core losses to higher level, but inside the range of rule and security. The result was a weight coils and core reduction, and the economy in project.

  • Customer size: Big Company
  • Power: 3000 kVA
  • Empty Losses (W): 3200
  • Load Losses (W): 27000
  • Impedancy (%): 6
  • Induction (T): 1,9

Conclusion

For this project was adjusted the core losses to higher level, but inside the range of rule and security. The result was raised up core weight a bit, but achieve in the same time a expressive weight coils reduction.

 

Final Conclusion

In the first moment, after see the results in charts seems easy to identify the optimization points of project, but in the daily reality is not so easy. To change some value in project, it’s necessary recalculate all others again, and this is the blind point inside the engineering sector, don’t think that the team not is struggling enough, believe that the person be doing the better is possible, but like a famous phrase “wins the war who have the better weapons”. Our mission is delivery this to the engineers!

When you have innovation tools in your hands is more easy achieve new results, of course much more profitable results as well. The main point in this analyze is not blame who is struggling day by day, but show that there are new tools and methods that can amplify the engineering fire power, that is the vital part of electrical transformers company.
